Alkagesta took part in the eighth International Conference “Fertilizers of Ukraine: Autumn 2026” in Lviv, where participants discussed supply pressures and the outlook for Ukraine’s fertiliser market in 2027. In an account published on its website, the company said the event covered international and regional influences on prices, imports, domestic output and the logistics challenges facing the sector.
The company’s representative was Elchin Aliyev, its Regional Commodity Trader for Ukraine. Alkagesta said he engaged with major agricultural holdings, fertiliser manufacturers, importers, distributors and terminal operators during the two-day programme. The conference brought together businesses involved in producing, trading, distributing and transporting fertilisers, alongside agricultural companies. The reported contacts therefore spanned both the supply side of the market and its agricultural customers.
According to Alkagesta, Ukraine’s fertiliser industry remains under substantial structural pressure. The company reported sharp year-on-year increases in import prices for key nitrogen products, while disruption to infrastructure continued to restrict domestic production capacity. Its account did not identify individual nitrogen products, quantify the price increases or provide figures for the production capacity affected, leaving those market pressures described in qualitative terms.
Alkagesta attributed the fertiliser supply shortfall to war and disruption across supply chains. It presented access to established European supply networks and the ability to handle several commodity groups as capabilities needed to address that deficit. The company linked that argument to its own activities across petroleum products, biofuels and fertilisers, and to the supply chain networks it said it had developed in Europe.
The account centred on market discussions and engagement with industry participants rather than a specific commercial announcement. It did not disclose supply agreements, shipment volumes or terminal arrangements arising from the conference, nor did it set out a quantified forecast for the Ukrainian fertiliser market in 2027.
